The most valuable creators in 2026 won't work alone

September 22, 2026

Influencer

Influence is evolving, with a rise in unexpected partnerships between creators and experts from different generations and industries. Discover how this unlikely pairing can benefit brands and their social offering.

Lee Peters

Associate Director

For years, social media rewarded creators who entertained. In 2026, creators who teach are starting to take over. Think:  a therapist with a Gen Z creator, a Michelin-trained chef with a foodie influencer,  a former CEO with a young entrepreneur, or a doctor with a science communicator.

Duos like this have a special sauce. One brings decades of experience, while the other knows how to translate that knowledge into content that thrives on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.

The result? Content that's educational, entertaining and highly shareable.

Why now?

We're entering an era where information is huge, but trust is limited.

AI has made it easier than ever to create content, but it's also made audiences more sceptical. People are looking beyond polished influencer endorsements and asking a simple question: “Why should I trust you?”

Intergenerational duos answer that question naturally.

The younger creator acts as the audience's proxy – asking the questions, adding humour and making complex topics accessible. The expert provides the credibility, context and lived experience.

Instead of feeling like a lecture, it feels like a conversation.

Expertise is becoming entertainment

The creator economy is shifting from influence to education.

We're already seeing creators build huge communities by making complex topics easy to understand. The next evolution is bringing the expert directly into the content.

Imagine:

  • A therapist unpacking relationship trends with a Gen Z creator who brings real dating stories from TikTok
  • A financial adviser helping a lifestyle creator decode mortgages, pensions and investing for first-time buyers
  • A Michelin-trained chef teaching classic cooking techniques while a foodie creator recreates them at home
  • A Formula 1 engineer breaking down race strategy with a motorsport creator
  • A former football manager analysing Premier League tactics alongside a football YouTuber
  • A master gardener teaching houseplant care to a lifestyle creator trying to keep their plants alive

The creator becomes the guide; the expert becomes the proof.

Some well-known examples of this include:

Gordon Ramsay and Nick DiGiovanni, who share videos with Ramsay bringing professional culinary expertise, while Nick brings the fast-paced editing, challenges and humour that perform on YouTube/TikTok.

Mark Rober and MrBeast’s #TeamTrees campaign combined Mark Rober's engineering/science credibility with MrBeast's ability to mobilise a huge creator community. The content turned an environmental cause into an entertaining challenge format.

Why brands should care

For brands, this format solves one of the biggest challenges in social media today: balancing authenticity with authority.

Consumers trust creators because they're relatable, but they trust experts because they’re credible.

Intergenerational and expert duos deliver both.

For brands, that means:

  • Greater trust and credibility
  • More educational, saveable content
  • Higher watch time and stronger retention
  • Cross-generational reach
  • Evergreen content that continues to perform through search and AI discovery
  • Stronger community engagement as audiences ask follow-up questions and participate in discussions

Rather than asking creators to become experts overnight, brands can pair them with people who have already spent years building that expertise.

The future of influence is learning

The future isn't about replacing influencers with experts, or even for experts to become influencers. It's about collaboration between the two. The real opportunity is to make expertise influential, turning knowledge into content people want to watch, share and act on

The winning partnerships won't be the loudest voices online; they'll be the ones that combine knowledge with the ability to make people care.
